Players MUST tryout with their age group! Any decision to have players ‘age up’ is made after tryouts/assessments. NO EXCEPTIONS (for example, a U11 player hoping to play U12 still must attend tryouts from 6-7PM). If your child cannot make both nights of tryouts, have them attend the one they can and then attend one night of supplementals. If you can’t make either tryout day, attend one or both nights of supplementals. If you can’t make any of the dates, please contact our Director of Travel to arrange an alternative tryout or assessment.
Note about Academy Assessments: MYSA’s Academy program is aimed at U9 and U10 players, but U8 players are welcome to attend. U8 players may be accepted into the program based on skill level.
If you plan to come to tryouts/assessments, please pre-register online. You may also register at the fields up to 30 minutes before your tryout starts – PLEASE fill out this Tryout Registration Form ahead of time and bring it to the tryout if you can’t register online. Players attending tryouts need to bring water, shin guards, cleats, and a properly inflated soccer ball.
MYSA coaches will begin making calls to selected players by June 3rd and will publish team rosters by June 17th
NOT ALL AGE GROUPS WILL BE CONTACTED AT THE SAME TIME! Don’t worry if you don’t hear from a coach on June 3rd, as some ages/genders will take more time to finalize than others. Some clubs may try to pressure you into accepting a slot within 24 hours if you tryout there. We’ve rarely seen situations where a club gives your spot to someone else if you wait a few days to get our results. Be aware that if you pay a deposit to another club and then decide to play with MYSA, they will likely NOT give you your money back. MYSA recommends that parents take the time to consider all options for their children and then make the decision that is best for you and your child! MYSA believes all players should be free to tryout in multiple places and choose the club and team that is the best fit for them.

Coaching assignments will be finalized before rosters are announced.
