MYSA 2016-2017 Travel Team Tryouts & Academy Assessments
The Mebane Youth Soccer Association will be holding tryouts for 2016-2017 travel teams for players born in 1998-2006 and Academy assessments for players born 2007-2009. Tryouts and assessments will be held at the Mebane Soccer Complex (Directions) on the dates and times shown below. Tryouts and assessments are $10 (includes a Tryout T-Shirt) and are open to anyone born in the years 1998-2009. For more information on our travel program, see the MYSA Travel Soccer Guidelines and MYSA Travel Soccer FAQ. Per recent changes announced by US Soccer on how players are grouped by age, all MYSA travel teams will be formed based on birth year for the 2016-2017 soccer year

Players MUST tryout with their birth year age group! Any decision to have players ‘play up’ is made after tryouts/assessments. NO EXCEPTIONS. If your child cannot make both nights of tryouts, have them attend the one they can and then attend the supplemental tryout date. If you can’t make either tryout day, attend the supplemental date. If you can’t make any of the dates, please contact our Director of Travel to arrange an alternative tryout or assessment.
Note about Academy Assessments: MYSA’s Academy program is primarily aimed at 2007 and 2008-born players, but 2009-born players are welcome to attend.
If you plan to come to tryouts/assessments, please pre-register online HERE. You may also register at the fields up to 30 minutes before your tryout starts. All players MUST fill out this Tryout Registration Form ahead of time and bring it to the tryout. Players attending tryouts need to bring water, shin guards, cleats, and a properly inflated soccer ball.
MYSA coaches will be contacting players as soon as possible following tryouts/assessments as rosters are set
NOT ALL AGE GROUPS WILL BE CONTACTED AT THE SAME TIME! Don’t worry if you don’t hear from a coach immediately following tryouts/assessments, as some ages/genders will take more time to finalize than others. Be aware that if you pay a deposit to another club and then decide to play with MYSA, they will likely NOT give you your money back. MYSA recommends that parents take the time to consider all options for their children and then make the decision that is best for you and your child!
MYSA Staff Coaches
Coaching assignments will be finalized before rosters are announced.
2016/2017 Travel Soccer Fees
Travel soccer fees include/cover: Weekly professional training, seasonal tournament subsidy (Classic teams ONLY), referee fees, registration and insurance fees, and general overhead expenses. Extra costs that fees do not cover can include tournament fees (for costs not covered by the team’s tournament subsidy), transportation costs, etc. Not all teams will incur all of these expenses! Coaches will outline expected costs (i.e. tournaments the team will participate in) before the season begins. MYSA partners with Soccer.com to provide travel uniforms. Uniform costs are NOT included in the fees below and parents will be responsible for ordering kits for their players directly from Soccer.com. More information on this will be provided to parents leading up to player registration in June. The standard kit is required for all players and includes two jerseys, shorts, socks, and bag or backpack. Additional items, such as warm ups and balls, may also be ordered through Soccer.com at any time.
