MYSA Challenge Soccer Program
The MYSA Challenge Soccer program is a regionalized competitive soccer program for players aged 10-18 (U11-U18). It is designed to provide a less competitive soccer option than Classic-level play and to enhance the player development environment while providing the opportunity to compete against soccer teams from nearby leagues. Teams participate in the Triad Challenge League and occasionally attend nearby or regional soccer tournaments. The TCL region covers the central North Carolina area from Hickory to Mebane. All practices are held in Mebane (2-3 times a week) and half of the matches are played here. For the handful of away matches, most are within an hour’s drive and many are in Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Kernersville and other Triad-area locations. Challenge teams play two seasons per year – Fall and Spring – with practices and games starting ahead of the recreation schedule by 1-2 weeks. MYSA does not always field Challenge teams at all ages and genders, as Classic division play is another option for teams.
