Recreation Pool Training
The MYSA is always looking for ways to improve and expand our offerings to our players so they can get the most out of playing soccer. Part of this effort is trying to expand our development opportunities for our recreational players to help them better compete in Recreation and also have a stronger chance of earning a spot on a travel team if they want. As part of this effort, the MYSA will occasionally hold Supplemental Recreation Pool Training.
This program is open to all MYSA players currently playing on U7-U12 Recreational and Travel teams. We encourage current travel players to attend so they can get some additional training, but also help demonstrate various skills being taught. The goal of the program is to give the players a chance to participate in fun sessions run by some of our most experienced coaches.
Sessions will be held semi-regularly throughout the Recreational soccer season, usually on Sunday afternoons at 4:00PM at the Mebane Soccer Complex. However, please watch your email for the latest announcements as the sessions are not held every week and the time may change! The program is free and players do not have to attend every session – just come when you can. Each session will last 90 minutes and will consist of warmups, some skill development activities, and then 30-45 minutes of scrimmaging. MYSA Staff Coaches will plan specific sessions, with additional coaches assisting during the activities and scrimmages.
We encourage current Recreational coaches to come out as well and observe the training sessions and activities.
Again – this isn’t something you have to attend every week and you can start to participate any time. While you do NOT have to RSVP or sign up (you can just show up to any session), if you expect your child will be attend, reply to the specific session announcement with their name, age, and current team.
We hope you can join us for this exciting program! If you have any questions, please contact our Director of Coaching ([email protected]) or Director of Recreation ([email protected])
