MYSA Recreational Soccer Program
The MYSA Recreational Soccer program is our most popular program, providing a local soccer experience for players aged 4 to 18. This instructional soccer program provides a soccer development environment for players of all skill levels. Younger ages (‘U’nder 5 or U5 through U8) play small sided matches of 3v3 or 4v4 to maximize the number of ball touches for players. ‘U’nder 8 or U8 through U10 play 6v6 with U12 playing 8v8. Once players reach the U14 level, they play full sided 11v11 matches on full size fields.
Teams play 8-10 matches per season (Fall Aug-Nov and Spring Feb-May) against other MYSA recreational teams at the Mebane Soccer Complex (and occasionally the Mebane Baseball Fields or Eurosport Soccer Complex in Efland) U8 teams participate in an end of season festival while U10-U18 teams participate in divisional end of season tournaments – all held here in Mebane locally. Our program is affiliated with the NC Youth Soccer Association (NCYSA) and United States Youth Soccer Association (USYSA) and match rules adhere to small-sided match rules from the USYSA.
Players are assigned to teams with the goal of creating the most balanced and competitive divisions possible. Uniforms are generally provided by many local business sponsors, though parents sometimes will be asked to provide shorts and/or socks. Teams practice 1-2 times per week Monday through Thursday with games either Friday night or Saturday morning (games can occasionally be Saturday or Sunday afternoon due to weather reschedules, school makeup days, etc.). Teams are coached by volunteer coaches, many of whom are certified by the NCYSA. All team adults (coaches, assistant coaches, and managers) pass NCYSA administered background checks.
The cost for each season is $40 (late registrations incur an additional $10 charge). Financial Aid is available to those that qualify.
