The Mebane Youth Soccer Association (MYSA) U11 Girl’s Classic soccer team, the Force, under the direction of coaches Dave Riley and Kevin Widderich, came away with the Championship this past weekend at the CASL National Soccer Series Qualifier Tournament in Raleigh.
On the way to the championship, the Force faced teams from Raleigh and South Carolina. They won their group handily, dispatching CASL Premier North G and CASL Fusion G, 5-0 and 7-0 respectively. With the top spot in their group in hand, they played the 2nd seed from the other group, CASL Premier South G and won 4-0. Moving on to the championship game, they defeated the BUFC 02G Pumas of South Carolina 3-1 to secure the championship.
With their championship win they have earned an invitation to the CASL Girl’s Shootout Soccer Series in November. Their win also catapults the Force to a preseason North Carolina top 10 ranking (#9) according to soccer.sincsports.com. Way to go Force! The Force players were: Logan Rogers, Laura Ray, Ivy Garner, Charlotte Ward, Emmie Talley, Aspen Wood, Sarah Widderich, Dixon Riley, Aleah Wood, Kimmie Ross, Maddie Hernandez and Megan Banko.
