MYSA U11/U12 Travel Players Finalists in Winter Indoor League
tagbo | February 8, 2013A team of Mebane Youth Soccer Association (MYSA) travel players reached the finals of the recently concluded Winter Indoor League in Burlington NC, defeating teams from Durham and Burlington. The team was composed of girls from the current MYSA U11 and U12 Classic teams who took on the team name, Mebane United. For their opening game, in spite of not having played as a team before, they acquitted themselves well and lost a close game to the eventual champions.
Regrouping after that bitter loss, Mebane United reeled off a series of 5 regular season wins, including a win against the team that defeated them in the opening game. Mebane United then faced down Durham City Futbol Club in the semi-final, defeating the Durham club 7 to 2. That win propelled them to the finals, where they lost a hard fought battle to the champions.
The Mebane Youth Soccer Association (MYSA) provides a variety of affordable, quality programs from recreational to classic level soccer to youth in Orange, Alamance and surrounding counties. The MYSA is always looking for players to join its growing programs. For more information, visit http://mebanesoccer.us or contact the Travel Soccer coordinator at [email protected]
