The ’00 MYSA Dynamo, MYSA’s U10 Travel Team, has had a season to remember this Fall! Coached by Jeff Michalski and Robert Jackson, the Dynamo have participated in multiple tournaments along with their regular season in the Triad Challenge League.

The Dynamo kicked things off at the RBC Fall Classic, sponsored by Triangle United. The Dynamo played teams from EWSA and CASL to win their group and advance to the U10 Boys Gold Division Championship. In an exciting final, the Dynamo beat their Triangle United opponent 4-3 in overtime.

Here is a synopsis from Coach Ski:

The ’00 MYSA Challenge Dynamo Won 4th Annual RBC Classic Gold Group.  The Dynamo finished with the #1 ranking in Gold Group Flight A with a Win over the CASL Diablos (10-5) and a tie with the EWSA Dynamite (3-3).  In the semi’s, we faced the # 2 ranked team from the B Flight, the CASL Vipers. We beat the CASL Vipers (9-5) in the Semi’s.  In the final, we faced the Triangle United’s very own Real Madrid.  Tied at the end of regulation, we scored to win in the first five minute sudden death overtime.  All players were excellent, but E. McCallum lead the way with three goals in the final to win the MVP.  Outstanding Offensive players included J. Velez, C. Michalski, and L. Hawks.  Defensive standouts were D. Meyers, I. Jackson, C. Michalski and J. Dykes.  Strong contributions were made by J. Buck and T. Lee.  Playing well in goal were A. Burke and M. Lawrence.

00 MYSA Dynamo - RBC Fall Classic U10 Gold Champions

Undefeated halfway through their regular season, the Dynamo then participated in the TCL Challengfest tournament. The Dynamo again won their U10 division after a series of exciting matches against Challenge teams from across NC.

The ’00 MYSA Challenge Dynamo Won the TCL ChallengeFest.  The Dynamo finished with the #1 ranking with 12 points in the U-10 East Bracket with four wins. On Saturday they beat the NDSL Sidekicks Black team 8-1. In the second game on Saturday, they bested the DCUSA Gold Team 6-3. The Dynamo returned on Sunday to beat the JSU Gold Team 6-1 and the ICRD Sabres 7-4.  All players were excellent, with J. Velez and C. Michalski leading the way offensively, and I. Jackson and J. Dykes dominating defensively.  Outstanding Offensive players included E. McCallum , T. Lee and L. Hawks.  Defensive standouts were J. Buck and the goalies A. Burke and M. Lawrence.

Win two tournament wins under their belts, the Dynamo continued to enjoy success in their regular season, finishing undefeated in the Triad Challenge League with an 8-0-2 record and finishing in 2nd place overall.
