Spring 2010 Tournament Champions

League Wizard | January 31, 2011

The Spring 2010 Rec Tournament was exciting as always with dozens of teams playing in six divisions. Complete results can be found on the main tournament webpage. Two championships went to shootouts while another was decided by one point. Congratulations to all the teams who participated and made this such an exciting event.

U10 East

The U10 East Tournament saw six teams playing in two groups. After six games, the top seed Swarm and 2nd seeded Blasters met in the championship match. The Swarm won by one goal 3-2.

The U10 West Tournament also had six teams playing in two groups. The #2 Goalbusters played an exciting match against the #1 Rhinos, with the match tied 2-2 at the end of regulation. The Goalbusters won the penalty shootout 3-0.

U12

The U12 tournament saw eight teams playing in a standard two group tournament format. The #2 Hornets and #5 Mustangs won their respective groups with a 2-0-1 record. The #2 Hornets took home the trophy with a 4-1 win over the Mustangs.

U14

The U14 division only had four teams this season, so they played a single elimination format, with The #1 Racers and #2 Blackhawks winning their semifinal matches. The #2 Blackhawks and #1 Racers were tied 1-1 after regulation and the Blackhawks won the gold in an exciting shootout 3-2.

U17

With only three teams, the U17 tournament was a simple round robin format with each team playing each other once and the champion decided on points. Both the #1 Hurricanes and #2 Pansies finished 2-0-1 and since they tied each other 1-1 in a very exciting match, the champion was decided via tie break rules. The #2 Pansies took home the trophy, having only allowed 2 goals overall.

Congratulations to all of our teams and our Spring 2010 Tournament Champions! Coaches – if you have team pictures you’d like added, send them to [email protected]
