Registration for the MYSA’s Fall 2010 Recreational and TopSoccer seasons has begun! Registration will continue through July 4th, 2010. Registering online is EASY! Simply login to your parent portal (or create an account if you don’t have one) and follow the instructions.

Make sure you select the proper level in the ‘Registering For’ field. Click ‘Register a New Player’ to register a child who has never played for the MYSA before. If your child has played before, they’ll be listed in your account – simply click the ‘Register for Fall 2010′ button. NOTE – you may be asked to update your contact information. This does NOT register your child! Until you see ‘Registered on xx:xx:xx xx/xx/xx’ next to your child’s name AND have received a confirmation email – they aren’t registered!

Registrations received after the deadline will be subject to a late fee. Players who plan to tryout for an MYSA travel team should NOT register for Recreation until after the travel rosters are released! They should register for ‘Tryouts’ instead.

Registration for the 2010 MYSA British Soccer Camp continues through early July. However, if you register online before June 4th, 2010, your child will receive a free soccer jersey! So register now!

As of 3PM, all MYSA fields are OPEN and all tournament matches will take place as scheduled. Very little rain was received this morning.

The times for the Spring 2010 Rec Tournament Finals have been set:

• Saturday May 15th – Mebane Soccer Complex
  • U10 East: 10AM Field 2A
  • U12: 11AM Field 3A
  • U10 West: 12PM Field 2A
  • U14: 1:30PM Field 1

May and June are a busy time as the league wraps up one season and works to organize another. The following meetings will take place over the next month:

• Travel Soccer Info Meeting – Tuesday May 18th 6:30PM Mebane Arts & Community Center
  This meeting is open to all parents with children interested in playing travel soccer. We’ll have a number of league officers and coaches there to answer your questions.
• MYSA Board of Directors Meeting – Thursday June 10th 6:30PM IT Xpress, 109 N Third St
  The board will be discussing any proposals for the upcoming Annual General Meeting as well as assessing how the season went.
• MYSA Annual General Meeting – Monday June 14th 6:30PM Mebane Arts & Community Center
• MYSA Travel Team Registration – June 15th-17th 6:30PM-9PM IT Xpress 109 N Third St
• MYSA Travel Team Orientation – Monday June 21st 6:30PM Mebane Arts & Community Center
  An orientation meeting for parents and players on MYSA Travel Teams. Individual team meetings will occur afterward.

Just a quick update on where we are. The server remains down and initial troubleshooting indicated a problem with the networking hardware in the server. We don’t have an estimated uptime. However, we are working to transfer all of the league data to a new platform. This is in progress and should finish in the next hour or so. Once that is done, we will do everything we can to get the league management system back online so schedules, rosters, and results can be accessed. Then we’ll be working to migrate other parts of our website to the new platform.

We’ve suffered a hardware failure on the server used to host our web and email services, and we expect it to take a few days to repair and bring back up. In the meantime, we’re directing people to what eventually will be our new website. While we have a basic structure created – most pages are empty right now.

We will try to get a static version of the practice and match schedules up ASAP. Also – Field 2 has been officially flipped. Teams who practiced on Field 2 near the parking lot now practice near the wood and vice versa. We will NOT be flipping Field 1 as originally planned and hope to have it painted by this weekend.
